about

This piece is an ode to Antonin Artaud.

It is sung through the eyes of his mother, who would visit him while institutionalised at the Rodez Asylum.

lyrics

And so I'm here
Don't watch me with your burning eyes
You drive your way in
But I see you in your true form
Dancing with no head
Writhing with no sense

His skin is not fresh
It's coated thick with dust
Will this train ever leave?
Delve into the trees?
Will my body be seen?
Unchained from your teeth?

I'll swallow my pride
I'll do anything for you
Just leave my boy
My son
My one

The python will strike
And hold him tight
But he's just a child
